International Vine and Food Festival

Sommelier Keith Edgar is rolling out an International Vine and Food Festival in Kolkata for all the wine and food connoisseurs. The premier event is being held in association with Kutchina and is powered by Qatar Airways.
There will be around 30 wineries who will be showcasing their wines at the two day long extravaganza. Also the who’s who of the wine industry will be conducting various classes on topics related to wine.
On 11th of April, Cecilia Oldne, Global Brand Ambassador for Sula will hold a tasting of their sparkling wines and she will talk about how dosage directs the sweetness in sparkling wines. Mr. Abhay Kewadkar, Chief Wine-maker of Four Seasons will carry out a session on how barrel aging is done for their Sauvignon Blanc apart from a tasting of the same grape varietal. Piero Masi, Fratelli’s wine maker will hold a tasting session of their red and white Sangiovese. And Sumedh Singh Mandala, CEO of Grover Zampa will do a tasting of three vintages of their flagship wine La Reserve.
The festival on the second day is divided into the morning, lunch and evening sittings. The morning session will begin with Michel Drappier conducting a session of their Grande Sendre'e Champagne. Vishal Kadakia will showcase Sauvignon Blanc varietals from Saint Clair Family Estate wines, New Zealand and will end with Everett de Jong’s tasting of four different varietals of Canadian Ice Wine. The lunch session will see Sergio Soriano doing a tasting of Rioja Wines and winemaker Laura di Collobiano conducting a tasting of four vintages of Biodynamic Super Tuscan Tenuta di Valgiano Rosso.
In the evening, a black tie affair, called the Black Tie Gala Dinner will be held. There will be a reception by Champagne Drappier. The guests will be able to enjoy a scrumptious wine and dinner affair with the food prepared by Canadian Celebrity Chef Marc Thuet and each course will be paired with a wine from one of the international wine guests.
