A Pink & Red Affair
Bangalore recently witnessed a luxurious and international wine tasting event at the picturesque golf club of Prestige Golfshire. Named ‘A Pink & Red Affair’, the event gathered a good participation of the Bangalore golfing fraternity and wine enthusiasts. The event was organized by Wine Tour India and Prestige Golfshire, who came together to connect wine and golf, the two most admired passions of the corporate world.
Guests were welcomed by the Grover Zampa - Brut Rosé which was served along with some amazing hors d'oeuvres. As the programme unfolded the host for the evening Keith W Edgar, an International wine educator, was introduced to the distinguished guests by Avijit Barman, the founder of The Wine Club.
Among the different wines poured during the event were the Grover Zampa - Brut Rosé, Grover's Art Collection – Viognier, newly launched Fratelli Sangiovese Blano, Fratelli - Shiraz Rosé, Grover Shiraz Rosé, Grover's La Reservé, Fratelli Sangiovese, and last but not the least the celebrated Torres Floralis Moscatel Oro dessert wine from Spain.
The highlight of the evening was the tasting of two different wines a red and a white from the same grape varietal ‘Sangiovese’ made by wine maker Piero Masi of Fratelli Wines. Among the reds, Grover’s La Reservé proved why it is still considered as one of India’s best-rated red wines.
The evening was divided into three different sessions and during every session a couple of premium wines were paired with a matching cuisine specially catered by the Chief Chef of Prestige Golfshire.
Keith took the guests through the myriad wine tasting techniques, interactive quizzes on golf and wine, exciting games with French made aroma kit (Le Nez Du Vin) and many more relevant subjects. At the end of each session prizes such as sinful chocolates and TWC- Wine Accessories were given away to the winners.
The venue for the evening was aesthetically decorated with the theme colours and through the amazing table layout, which had a name tag after different grape varietals. Guests were stunningly dressed in shades of pink and red making it quite challenging for the organizers to choose the ‘best-dressed man’ and the ‘best-dressed woman’ of the evening.
The evening came alive by the live performances of musician Ezekiel James and his team who led the guests through a night of song and dance making it an evening to remember.
