Good Weather Contributes to Increased SA Grape-crop
South Africa’s wine-grape crop should amount to 1.35 million metric tons in 2011, a 7.3% increase on this year, said the South African Wine Industry Information & Systems.
According to a report by Business Week, wine stocks held by producers, as well as those in private cellars will increase to 393.4 million liters at the end of 2011from 348.8 million liters at the end of this year.
Favourable weather and an absence of fungal diseases or serious outbreaks of pests are the contributing factors behind the forecast of the increase in the amount of the crop next year, said the group.
